Sales Estimation

The difference between Popomungos and VIP sales estimation can be very big. Among my club bookings the difference is often as big as 50%, and in some extreme cases a 100%.
Is the VIP figures just "wishful thinking" or is there any substance behind them?
I know that the estimations not really can be compared yet.
But it could be interesting to discuss the difference.

Re: Sales Estimation
Popomungo "estimation" formula is very dummy: (tickets sold / days sold) * total days. I believe that Popmundo estimation is smarter as it can take into account e.g. the fame. On the other hand, it would surprise me if the devs have implemented a precise estimation formula as it would make the club management a way more simple. We have to wait some days or weeks until we see how precise the built-in estimation really is.

Re: Sales Estimation
Uhm.. it says "Potential sales", not "estimated". So I guess it's the answer to a simple question: "If the right price is set, atbest conditions, how many tickets this artist can sell in this gig?"
So if that numer is much higher than popomungo estimating, probably you're selling too high price, or anyhow that gig isn't selling as good as it could.
Re: Sales Estimation
I guess that it could very well be as you say a "Potential sale", but in the Swedish translation the word is Estimated and not Potential. But of course this could only be a bad translation.
I'm fairly new as a ceo but I don't feel that popomungos estimation has been that far from the truth, even as it is a dumb equation as kenmooda say. But I have to patient, sooner or later I will find it out.
Re: Sales Estimation
Well, in Italian it's potential. But in English too. Now, as devs are swedish I dunno if they intended potential (as in english, official language) or estimated (swedish, their mother-tongue) :)
