Adding an option to load preferences from the internet could be useful if you play in 2 computers (work and home, for example). That way if you change something in your work computer, you don't have to change it again in your personal computer.
Of course, it's not something essential, just a luxury option witch may be hard to code.

Those extensions appear to be Ok. I didn't test them yet, but I'm about to format my PC.
